OGBR Skills Camp
July 5
& 6 at (Summit Rd)
REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio—In a world of
overpopulated event calendars, misplaced basketball focus and short sighted NCAA
legislation, it’s difficult for an non-team individual event to survive in
July, let alone thrive. It’s a testament to the management of Tom Jenkins
and his Ohio Girls Basketball Report staff plus the consistent depth of talent
in the state of Ohio that the 15th annual OGBR remained a
given for recruiters with their sights set on prospects in the Buckeye
State. From the opening address and laying down of the law by Jenkins to
the much anticipated and highly regarded counselor games, the event ran like
clockwork serving every individual to the fullest extent in a summer of
extraordinarily limited evaluation opportunities.
The two day event kicked off the summer
evaluation period and featured 264 kids over a two day period on the floors of
Reynoldsburg High School. Speakers, skill instruction and games go hand
in hand with a much needed “old school” approach in how to do things to make
the event productive for participants and college coaches alike. In the
courtside chairs look for the over 50 recruiters on hand including 12 from what
would be considered (thank you football) BCS programs.
Here is the list of girls from the Capital City Stars
